Howdy Readers,

Just like last year, Blueberry Arts and OH-NO Comics will be raising funds for Movember. And just like last year I am looking to build a team of men looking to grow moustache’s for the cause. This year I will be giving 50% of the profits from Blueberry Arts purchases made in the month of November as well as a yet to be determined prize for the person who raises the most cash for our team. I will of course be posting updates to this blog and my personal Facebook and Google+ pages on my progress.
Moustache Season is upon us, so I’ve registered for Movember to embrace the hair of the wild. I’ve pledged to cultivate a genuine 100% face grown moustache for 30 days to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically cancers affecting men.

Now, I’m on the hunt for trusty and fearless pioneers to join me by signing up for my team. Together we can change the face of men’s health.

To join my Movember team go to https://www.movember.com/us/register/details/team_id/225896.

Did you know that 1 in 6 American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year?

As more people become Citizens of Movember, more lives will be impacted. You can grow a moustache as a Mo Bro, or join as a Mo Sista to show your support and help recruit other Mo growers to the team.

Once registered, Movember will send you all the information you need to start raising awareness and funds for men’s health as part of my Movember team.

If you’d like to find out more about the programs funded by Movember, please visit http://us.movember.com/about.

Please join me at https://www.movember.com/us/register/details/team_id/225896.

Ahoy there!

It is once again time for Whitpain Townships Community Harvest Festival at Wentz Run Park in Blue Bell, PA this Saturday, October 15th from 11am-5pm. Blueberry Arts will once again be present with photo’s paintings and comics. We will have everything from our inexpensive postcards to one of a kind pieces of original art, something for everyone. We will also be raising money to fight cancer, just look for our Movember Jar. A good time will be had by all! So be sure to come out this weekend, support local independent artists and get a gift for that art lover in your life or perhaps yourself.

See you this weekend!

On OH-NO Comics Monday i made a blog post revealing reasons why there have been no recent comic updates. (I did it all in pirate speak for ITLAPD) One of those reasons was that modern computing no longer supports my version of Adobe Creative Suite. I of course discovered this AFTER I upgraded my operating system to Lion (Mac OS X 10.7). Lion is a 64 bit system and, well Adobe CS1 is only 32 bit. SO, I went online and downloaded a free trial of CS5.5 and happily used it for longer than the trial was supposed to last for. Then I had to reboot and my trial was over. Now I am stuck. The only way my comic gets online is with Photoshop and the only way I can make my books is with InDesign. Both are part of CS5.5.

So about the title to this news post. If I sell 100 books, I should be able to afford a student version of Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium and get back to making comics again (yay) and if I sell more than that, perhaps the Adobe Master Collection. The minimum I would have to sell would be 75 to get design standard.

Please help me make more comics. If you already own my books you can help spread the word AND/or buy something else in the shop, every penny counts. My shop can be found HERE (http://blueberryarts.com/shop/).

To buy ARTIST EDITIONS ($20) of my books go HERE: (http://blueberryarts.com/shop/books/). Artist Editions are signed and drawn in. I have a limited number of these, so only order from my shop if you are getting the artist edition.

To buy the REGULAR BOOKS ($12) shipped directly from the printer go HERE: (http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/blueberryarts)

Now here is a little secret about these books. If all goes to plan, these books will be discontinued sometime in 2012 making them collectors items never to be sold or printed by Blueberry Arts ever again. Plus if you bought one of the regular books from Lulu and want it signed, just find me at a convention or art fair and i will gladly sign it for you.

Thanks for your help folks, tell everyone you know!

P.S.: Here is a link for donations if you choose to go that route.
